What UBC Means to You: Video Collaboration!

Some of you took it pretty hard when UBC went offline. The messages you sent me via Facebook about how much UBC meant to you were utterly heart-melting and awesome and asdjflskdfksd THE FEELS.

Because of that, I would like to start off this whole Youtube channel revival thing with a collaboration. The premise is simple: in a minute or less, tell us what UBC means to you. If you have them on hand, feel free to also send me one of the first and last videos you posted to the site so that I can show how far you've come as an actor or actress.

I will accept clips in .mov or .mp4 format up until February 28th—that's two days from now. Please email them to kat@userbasedcasting.com.

(Also: Please vote in the Audition Video poll if you haven't done so already!)

  1. This sounds really great, I'll make sure to film as soon as I can! Just a thought, instead of doing a really long video, you could make it into a bunch of videos. Not to clog up the channel but to beef it up a bit, maybe do a series of videos featuring a member with their a clip of their first UBC video and clip of one of their latest/best, and at the end, the message of what UBC means to them.
Also, for the channel, maybe you (or a few members, if you'd rather not be on camera) could do a short video explaining UBC, kind of like the one you did, but with them talking and explaining in a quick video that could be used as the channel trailer.
Also, if you want to feature videos (monologues or other UBC related videos) that members have posted without having to upload them to UBC, you can put them in a public playlist on the homepage of the channel, to make it easier for you.
Sorry, I just think that using Tumblr/Youtube/Twitter/etc. are REALLY great ways to get UBC out there and get a heck ton more support.

    1. No, I totally agree about Tumblr/Youtube/Twitter being great ways to get us out there! That's one of the many things I'm trying to fix. ;)

I was going to make this all one video with short snippets from everyone's clips, but you pose a great point. I can definitely do separate videos for people who also submit before/after videos! (I was actually planning on having that be a weekly feature on our channel with the intention of starting AFTER the site is back online. I can start on it early, though.)

  2. I wish I could, but all of my recent video files are JPG or something like that. I'll try to see if I can find a way to convert them.
